Roof Repairs Across the Fens

Most roof leaks aren’t where the damp patch is. Water runs along a rafter and drops somewhere else entirely, which is why guessing at repairs tends to waste money. We find where it’s actually getting in before we fix anything.

Slipped tiles, cracked ridge mortar, failed lead around a chimney, a blocked valley, storm damage — most of it is a straightforward fix if it’s caught early. Leave it and you’re into wet timbers and plaster, which costs considerably more.

What’s included

What the job involves

  • Leak tracingWe find the actual entry point rather than sealing the nearest suspicious-looking thing.
  • Slipped and broken tilesMatched as closely as we can to what’s already up there, refixed properly.
  • Chimney and lead workRe-leading, repointing, flaunching and cowls. Chimneys are behind a large share of the leaks we see.
  • Ridge and verge repointingOr converting to dry-fix so it doesn’t need doing again.
  • Valley repairsValleys collect debris and then water. We clear, reline and make them right.
  • Storm damageIncluding the paperwork and photos your insurer will ask for.
Warning signs

When to call someone

If you recognise any of these, it’s worth getting looked at before it turns into a bigger bill.

  • A damp patch or stain on an upstairs ceiling
  • Tiles on the ground after high winds
  • Water running down the chimney breast
  • Moss and debris packed into the valleys
  • Guttering overflowing where the roof meets it
  • Daylight through the roof in the loft

Common questions

Do you do emergency call-outs?
We get to leaks and storm damage as quickly as we can, and they jump the queue ahead of quotes. Ring rather than use the form if water is coming in.
Can you make it watertight temporarily?
Yes. If we can’t do the full repair straight away we’ll get it covered and watertight so the damage stops getting worse.
Will you match my existing tiles?
We match as closely as possible. On older or discontinued tiles we’ll usually source reclaimed ones.
Is storm damage covered by insurance?
Often, yes. We provide photos and a written report of what we found so you can put a claim in.
