Sutton Bridge sits right on the River Nene where it runs out to the Wash, about nine miles from us. The Cross Keys swing bridge is the landmark everyone knows it by. It’s a village with a lot of Victorian brick, some estate housing and a scattering of properties out along the riverbank and the marsh.
This is one of the most wind-exposed spots we work in. There is genuinely nothing between the roofs here and the open water, and it shows: lifted ridge tiles, verges stripped back, flat roofs on garages and extensions peeling at the edges where a trim has let go. Fixings and edge detailing matter far more here than they do inland, and it’s where cheap work fails first.
Full re-roofs and new roof structures, stripped back and rebuilt properly.
