Fascias, Soffits & Guttering

Fascias and guttering are the least interesting part of a roof and the part that causes the most expensive damage when they fail. Water that should be running into a downpipe ends up running down the wall instead, and brickwork that stays wet through a Fenland winter doesn’t stay sound for long.

Rotten timber fascia, sagging plastic, joints that have dropped, gutters full of moss and seedlings — it’s all fixable, and it’s cheap compared with re-plastering a wall or treating damp.

Common questions

uPVC or timber?
uPVC for most houses — it doesn’t rot and doesn’t need painting. Timber where the property warrants it or planning requires it.
Do you need scaffolding for guttering?
Usually a tower or scaffold for anything above single storey. It’s in the quote.
Can you just clear my gutters?
Yes. It’s a small job but it prevents a lot of bigger ones.
Will new fascias help with damp?
If water has been running down the wall, then yes — stopping that at source is the first thing to fix.
